Sign Making Tips

Get Clean Letters Every Time

Set the V-bit depth correctly

Flat depth (the bottom of the V) controls stroke width. Flat depth is what makes small text readable.

Downcut for the top face

If the sign face is painted or laminated, a downcut bit keeps the top edge splinter-free.

Use two tools

One V-bit for lettering, one end mill for the profile. Two toolpaths, far better results than one compromise cutter.
